Early Morning

Early Morning
By Anna Renee Greene Dell’Era

When sleep runs away,
And there’s no desire for hot milk
Alcohol is available, yet you never sip.
Time to let pen and paper be your friend
Words released comfort to no end.
Some things on your mind
That won’t let you rest.
Tossing and turning
This is only a test.
Your faith can’t be broken,
Resilience is your key.
Prayer is the answer
So the devil may flee.

The sun, in three hours, again, will rise
Answers to questions
May arrive in disguise.
God gives the gift of discernment
While patience and obedience shine through,
Remain steadfast and faithful
You will know when to move.
