Feelin’ my ‘fro flow

Somethin’  about seeing my face embraced by the haloish fuzziness of my fro

Takes me back to a time of first love, my first real mandingo bro´

I also taste the North Carolina fish fries

Old time religion,

And back seat car sighs(um hum!)

Yes, the football games and cheerleading squads,

Ashy legs and bake sales after church, rioting mobs

Angela Davis,

And Stokely Carmichael,

Jackson Five, Angela Davis, tryin´ to save us

Jesse Jackson, James Brown,

“Say it loud, I’m Black and I ´m proud!”

Makes me revel in my pride

Tired of covering, pulling, straightening, conforming to be somethin I ain´t

I am what I am can´t be what I can´t

Naps and ashy legs

That’s the real Mccoy

Embracing it all

Givin me so much joy.

Free, me,

At ease, see

Unleashed, feng shui

Allows chi

To flow easily….

Happy, endlessly

And that´s all from feelin my fro’ flow…easily..
