Black Link of the Chain

Black Link of the Chain

The sparrow awakens me with his chirp
Again, a returned resume waits in my mailbox
I hold back a burp
I am an educated opinionated black woman
As is my apricot toned bi-racial daughter
Two seeds of African ancestry somehow caught in this chasm of xenophobic tendency
What awesome loads of gifts we have to give
If THey will not hire me… then

I pen my sorrow as
Movement joins the
Dance of song…

To remind them that they have sinned.
